Moving Through Pain

“Don’t think about it,” says the mind.

“Don’t look at it,” says the heart.

“Don’t spill out,” says the eyes.

“Don’t speak of it,” says the mouth.

“Numb it all away,” says the body.

“Destroy everything in your path,” says the soul.

Because eventually it will all fade.

Eventually, you’ll be empty; void of any hope.

But then a little voice breaks though.

“Work through it,” says Reason.

“Give it time,” says the sky.

“Let it out,” says the eyes.

“Write it out,” says the heart.

“It’s gone” says the being.

“Pain comes and you find a way to build your world around it
And when it hurts get inside the pain and wrap your arms around it
I heard pain tell love, she said “where would I be without you?”
So love I better find a way to build my world around you”
